Everyone at Beer Dock in Crewe is delighted to be sponsoring the Crewe Alexandra match against Barnsley. We opened the shop on Nantwich Road in 2013 and it’s gone from strength to strength. We have won awards for our bottled beer and craft ale concept, and we have recently opened upstairs to give our customers more space to relax.
The shop is a regular hub for Crewe supporters, offering a huge range of ales, stouts and ciders in bottles and on draught. Like us, the club is at the heart of the local community. We’d like to think that our business goes hand-in-hand with football, with fans meeting up and discussing the latest talking points over a beer. Hopefully, there will be no need to drown sorrows after today’s match.
There are also a number of links to the club. My father and I both follow the Alex, getting to as many games as possible. Before us, in the early 1960s, my grandfather, Denis McGarrigle, played in goal for Crewe Alexandra. There’s a framed team sheet hanging proudly on the wall as you enter the shop. It’s always a great way to start people chatting.
One of the best aspects of running the business, especially on match days, is seeing Alex fans and visiting supporters mingle. Beer Dock is a chilled-out environment and the atmosphere is always warm and easy-going. There’s plenty of banter, but it’s always friendly. Here’s hoping for a great game and positive result for the Alex vs Barnsley.
Beer Dock welcomes all supporters at its Nantwich Road base before and after matches, and is open throughout the week. Beer Dock also sells bottled beers direct via the Internet.
